| For now, this is just a placeholder, but I hope to write a post soon regarding a slogan used around here to encourage voting: "Your Vote. Your Voice."
Until then...

| "...At the time of the [conflict] it was easier for me, for I had made
a beginning already at home, and when once I had started on the road,
to go further along it was far from being difficult, but became a
source of joy and happiness."
"Every blade of
grass, every insect, ant, and golden bee, all so marvelously know their
path, though they have not intelligence, they bear witness to the
mystery of God and continually accomplish it themselves."
"For the worlds says: 'You have desires and so satisfy them, for you have the same rights as the most rich and powerful. Don't be afraid of satisfying them and even multiply your desires.' That is the modern doctrine of the world. In that they see freedom. and what follows from this right of multiplication of desires? In the rich, isolation and spiritual suicide; in the poor, envy and murder; for they have been given rights, but have not been shown the means of satisfying their wants."
There are many others that I liked even more than these, but these are what I've selected. The last chapter made me cry. If you can, read The Brothers Karamazov.

| My friend found this video on YouTube of the vocal group she and I were in last semester, Vocal Jammin' Toast.
Seasons of Love
I'm in the center, beat-boxing.
[Yes, this was recorded live on a digital camera, ergo, not-so-great quality. Sorry. Wasn't my idea.]

| I was talking to a friend of mine a few days ago, and we began to think about how our 8-year-old selves would react if we saw ourselves now.
I don't remember my 8-year-old self well enough to know how open-minded he was, but when he considered his 21-year-old self, I don't think he was expecting a long-haired, vegetarian paper salesman with pacifist and socialist tendencies.
I kinda like how I turned out, though.

In unrelated news, conversations between Ted Turner and Charlie Rose are always good for a few laughs.
